Introduction to Shenzhen Bay Laboratory:
Shenzhen BayLaboratory (Guangdong Laboratory for Life Information and Biomedicine) isjointly organized by Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Committee andPeking University Shenzhen Graduate School, and is co-constructed with unitswith research foundation and application advantages in related fields in theGuangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area , The goal is to cultivate theestablishment of a national laboratory and build a national laboratory"reserve team".
Introduction of the research group:
Dr. W.S. Sho Gohgraduated from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory with a Ph.D. in BiologicalScience. He has more than 10 years of experience in RNA biology and his recentfocus centers on developing high-resolution epitranscriptomic sequencingtechnologies and investigating novel epitranscriptomic mechanisms. In 2018, heestablished his own independent laboratory at the Singapore Genome ResearchInstitute, where he has won multiple research grants, published in prestigiousjournals (includingNatureCommunications,NucleicAcidsResearchGenes&Development,PLoSComputationalBiology,Celletc)and filed patents for his developed technologies.
The laboratory aimsto: (1) Develop technologies to sequence notable epitranscriptomes at highresolution; (2) Identify novel epitranscriptomic factors and characterizemechanistically how they regulate gene expression, cellular processes and humandisorders.
Laboratory management (1 person)
1. Job responsibilities:
(1) Assist theresearch team leader to complete various daily tasks, including but not limitedto personal affairs in China, handling letters and telephone calls, recruitmentof research team personnel, financial work, etc.;
(2) Assist theresearch team leader to manage the daily administrative affairs of thelaboratory, schedule arrangement, travel reimbursement, basic data collection,etc.;
(3) Assist in theplanning and execution of personnel receptions, important meetings andactivities;
(4) Daily managementand maintenance of the laboratory, including but not limited to: the purchaseof laboratory reagents and consumables, the maintenance of laboratorycleanliness, the maintenance and overhaul of laboratory instruments, etc;
(5) Complete othertasks assigned by the research team leader.
2. Application conditions:
(1) Biological relatedbackground, bachelor degree or above is preferred;
(2) Those who havework experience, have good English proficiency and must adapt to a full-Englishworking environment, overseas study experience is preferred;
(3) Strongcommunication skills, independent thinking and problem solving skills, and goodteam spirit and collaboration skills;
(4) Experience withmanaging science-based social media is preferred but not required.

Post-doctorate (2-5 people)
1. Job responsibilities:
(1) Complete thescientific research tasks assigned by the co-instructors, and publishhigh-level journal papers and apply for patents;
(2) Independently orassist in applying for scientific research grants at home and abroad;
(3) Develop noveltechnologies for sequencing various RNA modifications of interest at highresolution transcriptome-wide;
(4) Screen for novelepitranscriptomic factors (Writers, Erasers and Readers of RNA modifications)and investigate their mechanistic functions;
(5) Generatedisease-specific epitranscriptomes to facilitate the study of howepitranscriptomic defects contribute to human disorders.
2. Application conditions:
(1) Have a doctoratedegree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Virology, etc. (inprinciple, the doctorate degree should not be more than 3 years, and the ageshould not be more than 35 years old). Experience with Bioinformatics ispreferred but not required.
(2) Have published SCIpapers in this professional field, and have the ability to independently carryout scientific research.
(3) Have a strongsense of responsibility, professionalism, innovation ability, organization andcoordination ability and teamwork spirit.Have a strong interest inscientific research, have good scientific research capabilities and innovativethinking.
(4) Strong Englishwriting and communication skills.
(5) Experience withmanaging science-based social media is preferred but not required.
3. Benefits:
(1) The terms andconditions of the employment period shall be implemented in accordance with therelevant regulations of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, including relevant benefits,five social insurances and one housing fund, etc. stipulated by the state.
(2) Provide sufficientresearch funds, equip with necessary experimental equipment, and provide a goodworking environment and office equipment.
(3) Post-doctorate'sannual salary is 300,000 yuan (including 180,000 subsidies per year inShenzhen)
(4) Overseas PhD/postdoctoralcandidates who stay for further work can apply for Peacock Program subsidies
(5) After leaving thestation, post-doctoral fellows can be employed as assistants/associateresearchers of the research group or help contact foreign high-level laboratoriesto continue their studies according to their work ability and personal wishes;those who stay for further work can get 300,000 yuan as research fund from theShenzhen government according to regulations. Those who have been engaged inscientific research for 3 years can be identified as reserve-level talents inShenzhen and will have the opportunity to receive 1.6 million yuan housingsubsidies in Shenzhen.
(6) The research teamgives a high degree of freedom in the direction of scientific research, andfully supports post-doctoral fellows as the person in charge to apply forpost-doctoral science fund, national natural science fund and provincial andmunicipal projects.
ResearchAssistant (1-2 persons)
1. Job responsibilities:
(1) Assist the personin charge of the laboratory to conscientiously complete the experimental workarranged by the laboratory and meet the laboratory's work standardrequirements, be responsible for collecting and sorting out the originalexperimental records and data, and reporting them regularly.
(2) Daily managementand maintenance of the laboratory, including but not limited to: the purchaseof laboratory reagents and consumables, the maintenance of laboratorycleanliness, the maintenance of tissue culture cell lines and the maintenanceand overhaul of laboratory instruments.
(3) Assist in theestablishment of transgenic cell lines.
2. Application conditions:
(1) Biological relatedbackground, bachelor degree or above.
(2) With workexperience, good English is required.
(3) Experience inBioinformatics is preferred but not required.
(4) Strongexperimental operation ability, independent thinking and problem-solvingability, and good team spirit and communication skills.

Annual salary from80,000 to 150,000 yuan depending on the candidate’s research background andwork abilities[1].
